Last night I went and saw Billy Talent. They rocked the John Labatt Centre. Now, the day was a little more adventuresome than that though. Myself and Michelle started having a few beers in a late afternoon lunch. We split up for a bit, but everyone rejoined later in the eve at my house for the "official" BT pre-drink. We had a few more beers and then on Jeffy's advice, made our way just after 7:30 to the show. Now here's where things get messy.
As we walk, Rise Against goes on stage... we know they are co-headlining. We rush the floor and mosh our way up front, but after the set learn some sad news. Whilst we thought the doors opened at 7, the show actually started at 7. So the band I most wanted to see (Moneen) had

Afterwards we all made our way home and I was out like a light within 45 minutes. Perfect night.
Today is going lame though. I'm dreading going to work at 5, especially since I know I could have gone to the Raptor's game instead! I got invited to go by Steph, and couldn't get out of work to go to it. So I may be a grumpy Blockbuster lacky tonight.
Speaking of Blockbuster... I hope someone in head office reads this... already played. A few minutes later we learn even worse news. Since Anti-Flag had to cancel their showing up, Dallas Green had played a special set!!! Talk about two terrible things to miss. I got over it though. Billy Talent played an amazing set, and it was cool to witness the last show in a long tour... chalk that on the board of firsts. FUCK YOU! The last shift I did, last week, they started airing ad's in store about how wonderful it is to work at Blockbuster. Now, I agree, it is a sweet job, the people I work with are awesome, and I've watched more

Second thing that they did that pisses me off more isn't financial at all. With the wonderful "No Late Fees" policy some movies don't make their way back into the store for 2 weeks, or even 30 days. How many times does someone watch the Lake House that they don't bring it back for 27 days... then bitch that there is a $2 restocking fee. People are pathetic, and they alone make me want to quit quite frequently. But regardless, corporate says that "due to the success of our No Late Fees policy, people are finding sometimes movie's aren't always available to rent". Now as an employee, we get the benefit of 10 free rentals per week (which I love). Now, we get all new releases a week before they are launched so that we have a chance to see them. Now, once they are released, we have to wait 3 weeks (21 days) to rent them... but because us renting movies for free (let's point out that we work practically for free) cuts so much into profits we now have to wait a month to rent something that has been released. So now, if I miss a movie before it comes out, I have to wait til next month to see it. And the best part, they say that they find we are taking to long with the no late fees... but we get fired if the damn movie comes into the No Late Fee's policy... 3 strikes your out.
