I'm scared. S-C-A-R-E-D. Terrifyed one might even say. I don't even think I'm going to be able to sleep this week at all. My first exam is Monday, then I have two more on Wednesday and Thursday. I am striving and trying as hard as I can to be ready, but I don't know if I am yet. Sure I have many hours before the exams, but at this point I just don't know what to do. I know I can do well.
I worked a ridiculous 9 hour shift on Friday that left me beyond exhausted. I ended up getting home an unable to do anything went out for the first time in about 3 weeks. I didn't drink though. I did make one bad mistake. Drinking 4 red bulls in about a one hour time frame. I was BOUNCING off the walls like a crazy person. It was fun though, nice to just get out and see a bunch of people. Chilled and did some reading after the bar too which made me feel good.
Today was the longest day in a while too. Woke up after about 4 hours of sleep to go to homecoming breakfast at Lindsay. We made a great breakfast (my treat being chocolate chip pancakes) and then ate and enjoyed the company. Afterwards I hit the library and the gym, and then came home for the night. It took 3 hours for our pizza to arrive which was ridiculous, but I got to watch the Leaf game and soon SNL with Dane Cook. Now it's 11:05pm and I don't want to go to bed. I'm reading psych again and just worrying about this week.

Thumbs up for energy drinks
Wow, its 1 o'clock in the morning and I am not even the slightest bit tired. I'd like to thank my addiction to energy drinks for that. At least I am super focused and getting work done. Almost caught up entirley in the first of 3 classes I have to get caught up on this weekend. Funny how it seems that the more work I do, the farther I get behind.
I've started playing poker. It seems single tabeling helps me keep my focus while I do work. Just getting to look up and do something every couple minutes seems to let you sit here for a lot longer. Hopefully I can win a couple million in an hour though just to make it worthwhile.
I'm not impressed with the 9 hour shift I have to go to in 10 hours. I'm better I don't wake up til about 10 minutes before it ether and have to go in looking like a hobo. Oh well, its only Blockbuster.

This is all bigger than me
It's the weekend. The only terrifying part is that means only 4 days til my first exam of the year. This weekend is an inter-splice of "work work" and school work. Speaking of "work work". How stupid do you have to be, to hand in a resume at a business, with a sticky note saying "I am looking for "work work", and am available part-time". It's especially sad from a University student. I shed a tear when I saw this the other day.
I've been battling the "western flu", and I think I'm almost over it. It's just led me to feel like shit the last three days, and look like the worlds most attractive person as i dripped and sniffed like it was nobodies business.
The highlight of yesterday was definetly the reciving of my new iPod video. I had class solid from 10:30-5:30, and then rushed to work from 6-11, and when I got home, sitting there was my new toy. Of course I had to load it with videos, music and photos immediatly. It survied its first two tests though, worked well in the sun light, and it entertained me while I ran at the gym. Nothing pases the time quicker than a couple episodes of The Office. The only thing I am having trouble getting used to is how I actually have to do things to play songs. I was so used to my shuffle and its "turn on and hit play" simplicity.
Thats about the fun of my life though. I'm going to become a major stress case over the next couple days. The red bull is being purchased this afternoon, and then it will begin. I'm stuck working 11-8 tommorow, and 9:30-5 on Sunday, but in between all that I will likley have some book glued to my face. Come' on Ivey :D

Do what I say
Go See Jackass Two. It was simply the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. It was even better than the first one. Just do it.

Seasons Fade... Fevers Rage... It's a Slow Decay
I hae never been more beat down after a nights sleep than I was today. I felt like vommiting, couldn't keep my eyes open, could barley walk and just gerenerally felt like a train wreck. I think it was because of everything that happened yesterday.
It was a solid 18 hours on campus. I had a 15 minute break in which I got to go home and drop off things and change. That was the only time not at good ol' Western.
The highlight of the entire day came from a contest being offered by CHRW 94.9FM. Moneen was doing a live studio accoustic show, and they were going to let people put their names in a draw and try to win one of ten seats in the studio. I got there two hours early just to sit and do work until the contest runners got there. I put my name, and Diane's and stated talking to the guy running it. 20 minutes later I got back to studying when he came up and asked my name and my friends. I told him and he went back, and took them out of the draw box and put them in his pocket. Needless to say, we both got to go.
They played an awesome set. It was short, only 4 songs, but what they played was fantastic. Their in between banter ranged from completly random jokes, to ammusing stories from the road. Overall I was a happy kid, we got to meet them and get some posters signed afterwards too.
The next highlight was definetly at frisbee practice. Firckin' Hammered is back in full swing with a few new players, but leave it to me to do something stupid. Running back full speed to blow a toss, I jumped into the air and swatted down the frisbee. The only problem was there was no time between hitting the frisbee, and hitting a giant oak tree full force. I was nearly KO'd and my knee has hurt to walk on since. But it was supposedly hilarious.
Now I just have to continue to push through. This is going to be a super busy week getting ready for my three tests next week. I'm sure I will live though. Until next time.

Kill the Messenger
Another weekend has come and gone. The sad thing is that its 10:45 on a Sunday night and I feel like I'm just hitting Friday. I havn't had a break, and I don't see one coming for the next 2 weeks. I'm expected to have a nervous breakdown by Saturday night, and have spent about $80 on red bull by monday.
Notable examples include being on campus from 8:30am-1:30am tommorow, going from 10:30am-11pm Wednesday, and somehow having to find the time to study for my three exams next week. UGH! It's going to be a huge pain in the ass.
Today was my third day in a row working, and my feet are at this point killing me too. For some reason I'm being assigned to work Wednesdays all of a sudden, even though I told them I couldn't do it. It's fucking retarded. I am not working all night the day before I have an exam. This weekends big day is homecoming. My roommates are already planning a mad party, and I'm planning an alternative. Currently looks like Jackass 2 at noonish, and the Leafs home opener at night. With the library in between. GO ME. That will be two weeks without drinking. It's getting easier every day I go.
Anyways, thats about all thats fun in my life. OH, and we got our 55" TV and 2 lazy boys yesterday. It is fucking sick to have them in the set up. I'll get a photo eventually. Also going to try and see Metric perform a live accoustic set tommorw. I hope I make it in.

Happy Happy Joy Joy
Well, I'm excited for the iPod video I ordered last night, but even more so, I'm stolked because my roomate Jeff is bringing us the Big Screen TV today. We get to watch everything in super size now. I'm going to become a sports and movie junkie and not leave my couch for days though I think.
My first day back at work went well. It took a few minutes but I quickly figured it out again. I have an 8 hour shift starting in half an hour that I really have no desire to go to, but I will. Tonight looks like another boring night of reading, and maybe watching some big screen movies.
Today also succesfully marks 1 week without drinking. Nobody believes I can do it, and many people have told me I won't succeed. Fuck them.

Ok, I'm drooling
Well, I have caved in. It's taken about a week of wanting to click the "place order" button but I have done it. Thanks go to Dad for making it possible though. I am going to be a bundle of anticipation for the next week waiting for this damn thing to show up though.
Mmmmm, 30GB iPod Video, in White.
Can't wait.

At your Funeral
I start work again today. Another consumer of my time will begin I guess. I'm working on a way to add an additional 3 1/2 hours to every day because I need that right about now. Blockbuster is going to absorb a solid 17 hours out of the 72 hours I have availble for the weekend.
Our frisbee team had our games moved a week earlier which sucks, although I am excited to get to start playing again. I got screwed out of playing badminton this week because of "Clubs fair", and I still have to wait another week before Polo starts. It will be good to get back into the swing of things.
I'm now at day 6 of not drinking, and its funny to see how many people don't think I could do it, or don't believe in me. That and I havn't told too many people about it, and am having random people ask me why I would do such a thing. So its spreading, now to prove to everyone that I can do it.
The only other thing driving me insane is the lack of iPod that I have right now. I want to buy an iPod video so badly, and I'm sure I will cave by the end of the weekend. I just don't want to part with $200 to acquire it. So if anyone wants to send me random money that would be appreciated.

Fight you for no Reason
It's the weekend!!!! YAY!! Minus the fact I work every day of it, and have a ridiculous amount of work to catch up on too. Ah well.
The picture has nothing to do with anything other than the fact I got the sports package for my TV today. Somehow it was cheaper to add outlets to 2 rooms, switch the rest to digital cable and get time shifting, rogers on demand and the sports pack, then the cable package we were currently getting. How stupid is that.
The only highlight of today so far was a 2 1/2 hour grocery shopping extravaganza. We have food again.
I have to attend a frisbee meeting tonight and then the new Office and Grey's Anatomy episodes are on. Otherwise it will be bac to reading.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo
What a sad day, well, sad week really. My iPod shuffle is dead. (The picture isn't of mine). Its been slowly becoming more finicky about turning on, but now its just not doing it. If I smack it against the wall I can usually get it to start working.
Reinstalling the software didn't help. Reformatting did nothing. Just looks like its dead. I'll put it right beside my 2G 10GB iPod that died two years ago.
I guess now the only question is what to replace it with. A refurb 2GB nano is $120, and a refurb 30GB video is $210. $90 difference for 28GB and video capability. Ugh, I have to decide quick because I have an itchy trigger finger. Unless the iPod fairy comes and delivers me a new 80GB video ;)

Red Light Indicates Doors are Sealed
Well, I think I have a problem. My addiction to red bull and monste is kicking in again. It would be great, if it wasn't for the fact that I tend to blow an average $3-$6 a day on that shit. Hopefully my giving up booze will even out with my love of energy drinks. I wish I could find a place that sold them for $1.50-2 instead of the usual price of $2.99.
I had a slow day. Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of class. I've learned something though. Demographics are boring as sin. The class is interesting, but the whole idea of being a demographer is boring to me. I would probably hang myself.
I started informing people of my idea to not drink for the rest of the semester. The average response was ether "what did you do to Mike?", "are you sick?", and "hahahah, you are joking!". That just gives me more reason to do it. People don't think I can. I think about 50% of my current motivation comes from knowing nobody believes in me. Its exciting. Of course the other 75% of my motivation comes from my desire to succed. And yes I know that is 125%. I just beleive I am more important than most people, so I can have a little more to me.
Tommorow is going to be one hell of a long day of reading. Starting it up around 12, and then just waiting it out until the Grey's Anatomy and Office preimeres start. Then back to reading for the weekend. Fun ho!

Young and Aspiring
Well another week has gone by. Second hand information (.com) is officially registered now which is cool. It is being launched this week as "phase 3: Ivey 'hoe". It is the succesor to "phase 2: Motivation Needed". It will be the usual assortment of rants as I try to conform to a new life of not drinking, and studying like a crazy fucker.
Today has been nothing out of the ordinary. I read, went to class, read, had some chats, read and am currently reading more. How exciting is that? I've decided to actually go ahead with the drinking ban. It is going to be tough for the first couple weeks, but I don't think I will notice it because I'm going to be too busy. The excepts are going to be Jeffy's birthday (and some other birthdays if neccesary), Christmas break, reading week, and of course, next summer if I feel like drinking again.
I hope this all works out, or else this will all just turn into a failure, and then part 4 will be entitled something like "Phase 4: God damn I am a fuck up".
Until then, I am just going to keep pounding back the red bulls, and the pages. Woo.

Insomniatic Meat
Well, I found out today that I missed a show by Teitur last night in London and I am kinda of pissed off about that. But on the plus side, Tuesday is easy day, PJ's and reading is all that has to be done.
I made the proclimation that today was Pancake Tuesday and was able to succesfully get the event out to a solid two other people. I made a great lunch of chocolate chip pancakes with a side of bacon. So unhealthy, but at the same time, so yummy.
I think I am going to turn the second tuesday of every month into Pancake Tuesday, until religious zelots bomb my house.
Otherwise there is nothing new which is nice to say. Just watching as life packs on. I've decided that after Thursday, I am going to go on an alchohol ban. I am going to not get drunk for the rest of the school year. The exception being Christmas break, Reading week, and the odd beer with dinner or a movie. But the overall idea is to prove to myself that I don't need alchohol to have fun.
I will be so impressed if I can pull it off :s

Close to Another Nervous Break
Well, life is getting more and more hectic every day. UGH! The only current plus is my stats class somehow has no math, or formulas to be known. How random.
Today was my typical busy monday. 6 hours of class. Lots of running around in between, but I got to see Kel for the first time in over a week which was nice. Havn't been too motivated to do anything since night class ended, but going to try and do some reading anyways.
I was happy to find out that next Monday Moneen is playing a special accoustic set at the UCC, but only 10 people are going to score tickets. I'm going to try super hard Monday to get those because I think that would be a sweet thing to be part of.
Otherwise this is going to be a slow weekend. Thursday I'm hitting the barking frog for some fashion designers launch party? Then I work and have to read Friday, Satuday and Sunday. Ah well. I love it here.
My attempt to find information about Habitat for Humanity and the opportunity to go to Africa or South America seems to be failing so far though which sucks. I have to call them this week to see if they offer experiences like that. Until then.

A little gossip on the side
I think life is going to become a living hell very quickly. Or at the minimum time is going to fly by. I'm just calculating what I have to do over the next couple months. Starting the first week of October, I don't get a break til CHRISTMAS. If I pull off going away for Christmas, I will be right back in the loop in January, and then not have a break til April. This year is going to fly by, and thats sad.
On the plus side, as long as I can squeeze an 85% average by doing no partying, and a hell of a lot of studying, I can go to Ivey next year!!! (I think)

A new begining
So, I havn't posted on Motivation Needed for over a month, so I'm going to leave it alone now. It was a different stage in my life, and I am past it now. Motivation was definetly found. What is the deal with the new site name then? Emptydish has been around for more than 5 years now, so I thought that I needed a small change. This name caught my attention a few days ago walking around campus because someone had etched it into a wall. I don't know why it stuck, but its now going live.
I'm back in London, and back to the grind. I've spent more time studying and working since getting back than I have this early ever before. Life is just too hectic, and since exams start in two weeks theres nothing else I should be doing.
This is more or less just a ramble right now though. I'm excited though about everything going on. I'm signed up my Ultimate Frisbee team again. Re-joined Inner-tube Water Polo, found a Ball Hockey team, found Badminton partners, and all that is left is to find out when Varsity tryouts are. I'm working at Blockbuster and Campus Tour Guides right now. Also volunteering again at Western Foot Patrol! It's definetly going to be a busy fucking year.
I think I have my life sorted out school-wise as well. I will be finishing university with a 4 Year Honors BA, Majoring in Sociology and Minoring in Criminology. From there I still want to go to Ivey. I know I can, and I will make it. Its going to take a lot of sacraficing this year, but I want it more than I did two years ago when I fucked up my opportunities. Now its time to make it work again.
I'm working towards an ambitious Christmas goal this year. Originally I was hoping to go with my family to Whistler to ski the rockies, but latley I've started having another though. I'm having trouble finding information, but i want to go on habitat for humanity missue to build houses in ether South America or Africa for a week or two. I think that would be more rewarding then spending another Christmas spending money and getting gifts that I don't neccisarily need (Although the 5G iPod looks sweet ;)).
Other than that nothing is new. I'm super busy which is actually wonderful for a change. I almost have my next tattoo planned out, just have to figure out when my neighbors want to go so we can get them. They both want another, so we are going to make a trip up north to the guy who did theres.
Thats the fun of it. Second Hand Information is born.
